I have successfully passed my Diploma in Special Educational Needs at Glasgow University completing the required 8 modules
one of which was in \u2018Autistic Spectrum Disorders\u2019. I have delivered in-service CPD training to my staff colleagues on this and other
courses I attended, which displays effective leadership qualities.
I have extensive experience and training in special needs education which I believe would be very beneficial in this post.
I have kept an up to date and detailed CPD folder and have attended various courses in areas such as SEBD, the More Able,
ADHD and Autism, and Behaviour Modification.
I have been involved in the developments of various units of work for standard grades in RME, History and Modern Studies.
I have also differentiated several units of work in various subjects to increase accessibility of less able students. I also developed
a \u2018Social Writing Skills\u2019 programme for students with literacy weaknesses.
In 2011 I developed a Staff Guide to support school staff in recognising and dealing with students with Additional Support Needs.
